Mr. Gilmanov has been involved in activism since 2016. In 2017 he registered his public organization supporting people living with HIV in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Over his years of work, Mr. Gilmanov has convened a team of like-minded thinkers who have contributed to the development of a wide range of areas in the organization’s work and the comprehensive provision of services and assistance to people in need. He has been a member of EVA Association since 2017 and a participant in forums for people living with HIV and men who have sex with men.
“I am in EVA in order to be a conductor of important changes both in the organization itself and in the people close to me, who are affected by socially stigmatized infections,” he said.
