The EVA Association regularly conducts a forum for patients and specialists who work in the field of HIV.
The last forum was held on the 23rd of March in Saint Petersburg. 37 participants from 25 regions of Russia met in Saint Petersburg to discuss the trends of work in the field of HIV in the 2018 and 2019 years.
As part of the discussions in small groups 5 main areas of priority were identified:
— Interaction with social and medical services with the goal of improving the standards of working with women living with HIV;
— Promoting house visits for people living with HIV (express testing, accompaniment, etc.)
— Defending the rights of people living with HIV to receive services including work on optimizing the normative legal basis
— Reduce the level of violence against women living with HIV
— Establish adherence to ARVT among women living with HIV and promote starting treatment early in mixed status couples.
The forum’s participants also outlined a plan of action to implement the defined priorities.
