Funded by: Presidential grant
Location: Saint Petersburg
Main project services: counseling with a psychologist, social worker, lawyer, peer counselor, and support group (with support from the CO-CREATE art project.
Services are provided in person and remotely: by phone 913-03-04 and online.
Planned coverage of the services: 800 women living with HIV and their family members.
Ekaterina Mikhailova, Project Coordinator: “Any woman living with HIV can receive quality support without hindrance from the InfoCabinet specialists, improving the quality of their lives and the lives of their families.”
The project’s singularity:
— In the reality of the lack of gender responsive projects, the InfoCabinet is a comprehensive approach to solving a wide range of issues that women living with HIV face.
— Not only women living with HIV can be provided with services, but also members of their family including extended family members.
— The InfoCabinet provides low threshold services, or in other words women from vulnerable groups (women who use drugs, sex workers), women without registration, migrants, etc. can receive services.
— Peer Counselors, people living with HIV, provide support both on the premises of the InfoCabinet as well as outside the Cabinet.
