Project Title: Preparing Peer Counselors Living with HIV and Manage Their Services in Institutions that Provide Social Support for HIV Infected Citizens (informally known as EVA Caring).

Informational and methodic support for the work of peer counselors in helping HIV infected women.
Manage the work of peer counselors at regional women’s support branches at the Center for Social Support of Families and Children and other governmental institutions that provide support for HIV positive women and their family members.
Develop the optimal algorithm to counsel HIV positive women with the help of a team of staff members from women’s support branches at the Center for Social Support of Families and Children and other institutions that assist HIV positive women.
Organize intersectoral interaction between specialists from different facilities that support HIV positive women; the peer counselor acts as a navigator between the different institutions.
Draw new clients (HIV positive women) to receive services from the Center for Social Support of Families and Children.
Gather data about the needs of clients in various services.
Create a unified base of services for HIV positive women that are provides by governmental and non governmental institutions in Saint Petersburg.
Regions of Saint Petersburg where the project is being implemented (total of 18): Admiralteysky, Fruzensky, Vasileostrovsky, Vyborgsky, Kaliningradsky, Kirovsky, Kolpinsky, Krasnogvardsky, Krasnoselsky, Kyrortny, Kronshtadtsky, Moskovsky, Nevsky, Petrogradsky, Petrodvortsovsky, Primorsky.
In addition to the regional Centers for Social Support of Families and Children, the peer counselors work as ‘navigators’ in the Women’s Crisis Center, at the Botkin Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital, at the Center for the Prevention of and Fight Against HIV/AIDS, and also regional branches for chronic and viral infections.
