July 28, World Hepatitis Day was celebrated around the world. Especially for this date, we talked with Nikita Kovalenko, a representative of the Patient Against Hepatitis patient organization, who spoke about the most common myths associated with hepatitis and described the situation with these diseases in Russia.

1) Please tell us briefly about the organization: how you help people with hepatitis, what did you manage to do for today, who can turn to you?

The NGO “Together Against Hepatitis” was created in 2011 by a group of patients who realized that if they themselves did not undertake to assert their rights to treatment, they would not be able to receive it.

“Together against hepatitis” brings together patients with chronic viral hepatitis, as well as all those who sympathize with them. The organization’s goal is to create an effective state program for the prevention, detection and treatment of chronic viral hepatitis. In fact, we are fighting to ensure that every Russian infected with the hepatitis virus receives free modern effective treatment.
