What can a peer counselor provide that a psychologist cannot, and vice versa? How are these two specialists different and how do they complement one another in supporting HIV-positive individuals and their loved ones? What is unique about the work of a peer counselor and what parts of a psychologist’s work are irreplaceable? Are they competitors or allies? How can they make their collaboration more productive, and what are both parties’ responsibilities in that respect?
On December 23 at 17:00 (Moscow time) we will discuss these and other “stumbling blocks” during a webinar with psychologist Svetlana Gavrilova, who has been supporting people with HIV for 15 years. We are happy for specialists from the helping professions and HIV field to participate as well as patients who are HIV positive.
