On September 6, in Yekaterinburg, the first open interview from the series “By-bye, stigma” will take place. The topic of conversation will be HIV, and the guest of the event is a member of the Association “EVA”, HIV-activist Elena Ivanova.
In our world there are a huge number of stereotypes that are formed around certain groups of people. For example, such stereotypes are in relation to HIV-positive people. The project “By-bye, stigma!” Aims to destroy these stereotypes. The format of the project is an open interview, in which the hero can answer popular questions, dispel myths, expose lies and reduce stigma.
The first meeting will discuss issues related to HIV. Elena Ivanova formulates the goals of the meeting: “I am going to tell you that HIV does not make a person worse, does not bring him new negative qualities. This is a controlled chronic infectious disease. No more … And someone chooses a life partner by the color of the eyes, by the size of the salary, by the presence of children, by the diagnosis in honey. card, and someone against this … I expect that we will talk about this “despite”.
In order to assess whether it was possible to expand the knowledge of the participants of the event, at the end of the conversation, the organizers will invite them to participate in the interactive voting “I knew” or “I did not know.” In the end, everyone will be able to test for HIV.
