February 13 is International Condom Day. What to do if a man is afraid of a condom?

February 13 – International Condom Day. February 14 – Valentine’s Day. It’s time to talk about what lovers do not like to talk about. For example, about what to do if a man is afraid of a condom?

According to various sources, from 40 to 50 % of men at least once experienced the loss of an erection at a time when they had to put on a condom, or during sexual intercourse with a condom. And for some, this problem becomes chronic. This phenomenon has its’ own informal definition: condom collapse syndrome.

Why is this happening? The main reasons are: erectile dysfunction, fumbling with a condom, anxiety, depression, fatigue …

What to do? Experts’ recommendations are simple and clear:

Be honest with your partner. And with yourself. If there is a problem, the first step towards its solution is acceptance.

Erectile dysfunction is treated. How? Consult an urologist.

Try using condom of a different size. A condom that is too small can interfere with blood flow to the penis. Also, you can buy another brand of condoms – what if they are more sensitive?

Foreplay is an important part of sexual intercourse. Ask your partner to help you put on a condom – it excites.

Use lubricants. A little bit of a lubricant can be applied to the balanus. Or to the exterior of the condom. The main thing is not to overdo it.

Consultation of sexologist or therapist. Perhaps the whole thing is based on attitudes or complexes. Straight talk with a specialist could dot the i’s.

Practice putting on the condom in the bathroom. You can do it alone or together with a partner.

Why is it important? Condom is a reliable means of protection from sexually transmitted infections, including HIV infection. In Russia, more than 800,000 people are living with HIV, and sexual transmission of this virus is now one of the main routes of spreading of this disease. It’s time to be on “You” with a condom!

International Condom Day is marked in more than 40 countries around the world. The motto of the date this year is “Always in fashion.”
