NP EVA participant Elena Shastina spend money that she had won in the contest “I Did it Myself” on HIV prevention among schoolchildren.

In March 2016 NP EVA and the Social Technology Incubator held a contest entitled ‘I did it myself’, which was designed for women who independently made and a blog or website or other online platform. The 2nd place was given to the Acting President of the Autonomous Non-profit Organization, New Life and NP EVA member from Orenburg, Elena Shastina. For this she received a prize of 150 dollars.

Thanks to the funds she won, Elena was able to implement a project on creating knowledge of preventing HIV infection and building tolerance towards HIV positive people among high school students and their friends and families. From the 4th through the 25th of April, 2016, New Life conducted 31 lessons in 27 schools for students in grades 8-11 with 1,068 individuals. The courses were held as interactive lectures, using methods such as presentations, conversation, persuasion, discussion, role playing, and creative tasks.

More detailed information about this project can be found on the organization’s website: http://новаяжизнь56.рф/.
